Create a separate tracked short link for each creator (free demo)Demo scenario: the fictional product “Shiye Field 01”, pre-launch coming soon
A tracked short link per creator means giving each creator you work with their own link. All the links can point to the same destination, but clicks are recorded separately, so you do not have to guess who sent a visit: you read each link's own clicks. This page is a free ShareHub demo: choose a platform, enter your email and get a short link and a stats page in seconds. The product shown is fictional, and ShareHub's link mapping is still in pilot and development.
Recorded: click time, country, device type (mobile, desktop, tablet) and whether the visit looks like a bot.
Not counted: bots and link previews (messaging apps often prefetch links); repeat visits from the same country and device type within 30 seconds count once.
Not shown: email addresses and IP addresses.
Not implied: a click is not an order, purchase, pledge or conversion.
How it differs from UTM parameters and platform referral tags
UTM parameters: key-value pairs added to the end of a link and read by analytics tools such as Google Analytics to show where traffic comes from. They need an analytics tool on the destination page.
Platform referral tags: on Kickstarter, a project creator can add custom tags to links and see, per tag, the number of pledges, the share of total funds and the amount in the dashboard's Backer Source table. The figures are aggregated and give no information about individual backers.
ShareHub tracked short link: one link per creator, with its clicks shown separately on a stats page; it does not depend on the destination page. It counts clicks only and cannot see whether a payment follows.
They can work together: the short link shows who brought the click, the platform tag shows pledges, and UTM shows behavior on your own site. By design, the finished feature will let the short link carry that creator's referral tag to the platform link; this is in pilot.
Why create a separate short link for each creator?
A separate link keeps each creator's entry point apart, so you can look at the clicks on every link on its own.
Do clicks mean purchases or pledges?
No. Clicks only show that a link was opened. They do not show orders, purchases, funding or conversions.
Who can open the stats page? Does it show my email?
Anyone who has the stats link can open it. It shows only click time, country, device type and whether the click looks like a bot. It does not show your email or IP address.
Can I use this for a real campaign today?
This is a demo. The link mapping feature is still in pilot and development, and what is available follows our official announcements.
How is a tracked short link different from UTM parameters?
UTM parameters are read by an analytics tool and need the destination page to have one. A tracked short link is one link per creator whose clicks are recorded on their own, without depending on the destination page. You can use both.
Do more clicks mean this creator brought more pledges?
Not necessarily. A click only shows that a link was opened. Whether anyone pledged or bought is shown in the platform's own dashboard.
